EARTH-CONSCIOUS RESORTWEAR BRANDS STEP UP THEIR GAME AS CITIES REOPEN FOR SUMMER TRAVEL
Fashion stylist and influencer Shea Marie founded Same Los Angeles in 2016 with the goal to create beautiful swims for an LA girl, by an LA girl. The company is taking steps to remain sustainable by minimizing waste in their packaging and reducing their carbon footprint. Plus, their offices are on the sewing floor of their factory, which eliminates the need for travel and which Marie said allows them to "ensure quality, comfort and sustainability in all of our products."
When asked what trends she's seeing in resortwear and swimwear now that life is slowly returning to "normal," Marie said, "I think we’ll see a lot of bright prints and fun colors, since 2020 was such a down year for everyone and people are excited about this summer and ready to stand out."
In preparation for summer, Marie is creating designs with fun cut-outs, which she said are becoming very popular. What's great about her suits, too, is the fact that they're made for real women. The brand, which boasts a very diverse audience, carries sizes XS to XXL and offers different levels of support and coverage to make sure every woman who wears a Same Los Angeles swim feels beautiful.
